So anyway, that little trip down Baron Memory Lane in the previous post is brought to you by I don’t know what I’m doing.
Whoa I just realised I was so wrong about the Baron quests. I’d figured Edward was a dick and Kurt dies canonically (pretty sure the “canon” path is to side with Ed?), but actually Edward is kind of a manipulative little shit and Kurt gets really vicious when hurt. Or that Edward was just putting up with all the shit, I don’t know. Shipping Kurt/Edward is hard. It’s hard and nobody understands. Also only Edward dies (if you recruit Kurt); Kurt appears to survive the battle if you recruit Edward?
I’m going to just read it as Edward is too obsessed with his past and poor Kurt sat on his one-sided whatever until he snaps and begs you to just assassinate the bastard. Oh the emo drama. Tierra de los Muertos was always full of emo drama; at least I didn’t get that wrong.
Also, Kurt’s version of some of the same lines are really wacky.
Edit (more derpnalysis): Interesting that Edward says “Kurt hates traitors” but he also says he thinks Kurt won’t want him dead for the betrayal? Yet Kurt outright orders him murdered. In the battle with Sir Lyndon Edward mentioned that he was saved from the Three-year War and again after Montoro fucked him up by a “Lyndon” but confusingly doesn’t clarify which Lyndon. His dialogue seems to indicate it’s the elder Lyndon, but he also mentioned repaying favours to both Lyndons so… if Hugo was the one to save him, what did Kurt ever do for him?
@oli: I guess he somehow survives our murder attempt? Hahahaha. Either that or the writers intended for the players to choose Ed and consider the other path some sort of AU/extra.
